Bloom&Co is a direct-to-consumer plant subscription service designed to demystify gardening for time poor urban professionals.
Brought on as the lead brand designer following a client referral, the objective was to establish a complete visual identity and packaging system from scratch. The core challenge was to reimagine the traditional garden center aesthetic, creating a warm, accessible, and digitally native brand that felt personal rather than clinical, without relying on predictable industry tropes.
Working with Vicky was a joy, bringing creativity, and a laugh she delivered a brand that exceeded everything we'd imagined.

Strategy
We positioned Bloom&Co around the idea of approachable, guided growth, offering seasonal, all-in-one delivery kits for curious beginners with limited outdoor space.
To stand out in a crowded direct-to-consumer landscape, we deliberately avoided the ubiquitous all green palette typical of lawn care and gardening brands. Instead, we developed a modern meets heritage visual strategy that emphasises curiosity, education, and the rewarding experience of learning to grow.

Design System
The brand identity centers on a custom mark inspired by organic transformation.
A dynamic leaf logotype engineered to morph seamlessly into a blooming flower, symbolising natural evolution. In place of standard green heavy schemes, the system relies on an autumnal palette featuring rich burnt orange paired with deep forest accents and earthy neutrals.
This palette provides a grounded, trusting tone that translates fluidly across digital channels, animated motion assets, and physical unboxing touchpoints.

Execution
Built for long-term flexibility as the subscription service expands, we created a comprehensive brand and packaging kit:
Full brand guidelines defining core logo variations, flexible colourway combinations, and typography.
Dynamic logo animations for digital platforms and social campaigns.
Custom seed packet packaging and bespoke pattern systems designed for recurring kit drops.
Outer postage box designs engineered to deliver an engaging physical unboxing experience.
Modular social suite templates and print marketing collateral.

Impact
Bloom&Co launched to market as a distinct, lifestyle-driven alternative to traditional garden supply brands.
Successfully capturing a new demographic of home growers during peak stay-at-home demand, the identity demonstrates how challenging category conventions specifically through colour and narrative can create a warmer, more engaging bond between a brand and its audience.
